Mein Auftrag als Notärztin ist es, Leben zu retten. Andererseits darf ich natürlich nicht gegen den Patientenwillen handeln oder auch sein Leiden verlängern. Somit ist natürlich ein Konflikt da, weil ich weiß, dass viele der Menschen, die ich in der Klinik treffe, schon den Wunsch getroffen haben, dass ihr Leben zu Ende gehen darf, wenn es diesen Weg geht. In der Notfallsituation kann mir der Patient seinen Wunsch jedoch meistens nicht mehr mitteilen und ich habe bis dato keine Zugehörigen gesprochen oder Papiere wie die Patientenverfügung gesehen. Ich habe andere Eingangsvoraussetzungen als in der Klinik. Ich muss in Sekundenschnelle über Leben und Tod entscheiden und das für Menschen, die ich nicht kenne. Ich weiß nicht, was sie für Vorerkrankungen haben, wie ihre Prognose ist und was sie sich wünschen. Wer bin ich, dass ich die Entscheidung für sie treffe, dass ihr Leben an dieser Stelle endet?
Hallo, ich bin Gudrun de Vries. Ich arbeite nun seit etwas mehr als 4 Jahren als Assistenzärztin der Inneren Medizin und als Notärztin. Ich bin mit Herz und Seele und Verstand nicht nur in Notfällen für Patienten da, sondern begleite sie im stationären Rahmen auch durch Höhen und Tiefen. Ich spreche bei diesem Kongress, weil Sterbebegleitung und Bedürfnisorientierung zusammengehören, die Umsetzung jedoch eine große Herausforderung darstellt. Gerade im Rettungswesen muss dieser Bereich mehr thematisiert und die Fachkräfte gut geschult werden. Ich wünsche mir, dass die Menschen sich frühzeitig mit ihrer eigenen Endlichkeit auseinanderzusetzen und mit ihrer Familie darüber sprechen. Das entlastet sie und auch uns enorm.

Danke für dieses tolle Interview und auch für die offene Art beide Seiten zu zeigen. Sowohl Ärztin als auch Tochter. Und auch für so deutliche Anmerkungen was wir als Angehörige oder aber auch als Pflegekräfte tun können, um dem Notarzt die Arbeit etwas zu erleichtern.
